Public Communication
My primary responsibility working in the Press Department for Connecticut House Democrats is writing constituent emails and crafting social media posts for lawmakers. These communications range from e-mails previewing local events to weekly recaps of what lawmakers are working on in the legislature.

Internal Communications
Press conferences and meetings related to legislative priorities are constantly happening around the Capitol. I attend these meetings and write summaries on them. These summaries are then used to brief other team members in the press department and lawmakers.

I also produce a "Daily Digest" that is distributed to every lawmaker and staff member in the House Democratic Caucus. That document includes press clips, each day's legislative schedule, and upcoming events.

Television News Production
I have extensive experience in TV news production. Over four years, I produced broadcasts in morning, dayside, and nightside time slots. During my time working in Baltimore, I produced the most-watched 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. local news broadcast in the market.

Working in a newsroom has given me a deep understanding of how to be effective in a production environment, what news outlets are looking for in a story, and how to best interact with them.
